Small groups are the lifeblood of our congregation! This is where we really connect with each other and become a true community. The following small groups are open to anyone! Please feel free to call or email the office for more information. We'd love to have you join us!

We have started a new ministry to young children on Friday mornings called "Kids with Karen." It is filled with creative play, social interaction, and a small snack. Every Friday morning from 9 a.m. to noon, Karen Weber is in the nursery to provide a safe learning environment for kids. It is available to those who wish to participate in the Lutheran Chicks group, Bible Study, or any other activity for which someone would like to be relieved of parenting responsibilities for a few hours. For more information, please contact Ingrid in the church office, or talk to Karen on a Sunday morning. We welcome everyone!
Did you know that God has a story? While we may know some of the more notorious biblical stories and while we may know this book of the Bible or that book, it is important to look, dig, and discover the big story of God and what God does in this world. In fact, we might just discover that our own lives and our own stories can become transformed and intimately linked to God's story. Join Pastoral Assistant Ryan Chaddick on Friday mornings from 10:30 to noon as we traverse the Greatest Story. Baby and toddler care is provided.
Enjoy good fellowship and hearing interesting speakers? Come be a part of the Brown Bag Lunch Bunch, which meets for brown bag lunch and informative presentations on the 2nd or 3rd Friday of the month at noon. There is no long-term commitment. Come whenever the topic piques your interest. You bring a brown bag lunch; we’ll provide the entertainment! Questions or want to find out more about the next meeting? Contact the church office.
The Mt. Carmel Quilters meet in the Multipurpose Room the first Wednesday of each month at 10:00 a.m. Quilts are made and donated to our shut-ins and children in the homeless shelter. Newcomers are always welcome at any skill level! Call or email the church office for more information.
The Friday Morning Garden Club meets at 8:00 every Friday morning to do yard work and spruce up the church property. Come enjoy the fresh air, fellowship, and exercise!
The Men's Group meets every Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. in the brick/kitchen area of the church. Gourmet breakfast is served along with spirited fellowship. New members are always welcome! For more information, please contact the church office.
The Mt. Carmel Book Group meets on the second Sunday of the month at 6:00 p.m. We select a new book each month; please contact the church office to find out what we are currently reading!
Like to do good in our community? Then the Social Action Ministry Team is for you! Members meet once a month to plan and execute a broad variety of charitable and philanthropic activities throughout the year. Interested in joining us? Contact the church office for meeting times.
The "Lutheran Chicks" meet at Mt. Carmel every Friday morning at 9 a.m. The goal is for women to prayerfully support each other. Share your ideas, experiences, and learn from each other in a peaceful "quiet" setting. If you choose, your children will have creative play, social interaction and paid childcare out of earshot -- but close by -- in our nursery. For more information, contact Ingrid in the church office.
We also offer annual women's and men's retreats, youth and campus ministry activities and trips, and a large variety of educational opportunities for all ages.
